Homelessness & Rough Sleepers

All forms of homelessness has increased significantly over the past few years. The latest statutory figures (released in December 2017) show that nearly 80,000 households were living in temporary accommodation, with more than 6,000 of them placed in Bed and Breakfast accommodation. This represents more than a 60% increase from 2010 when the figure was below 50,000. The latest figures include 120,000 children being housed in temporary accommodation.

The most recent rough sleeping figures, released by central Government in January 2018,  showed that 4,750 people sleep rough on the streets in England every night. This is an increase of nearly 170% since 2010.
