Transforming Healthcare

The Transforming Care agenda came into effect 2015 after the Winterbourne View scandal. This agenda aims to place people with Learning Disabilities and/or Autism into the community instead of reamaining in hospital. There are still a significant amount of people residing in a hospital setting who need to be moved into suitable acoomodation in the community. The Care and support arrangements for this are mainly dual funded by the NHS and Social Care

 

Because of the behavior complexities, accommodation are self contained units either in a cluster arrangement or purchase of their own property (Shared Ownership). The units can be designed to bespoke specifications to minimise risk to the person and others.
